Rick Deckard is not a Replicant - that was confirmed by the 1968 novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" when he actually TAKES the Voight-Kampff Test and PASSES it as human. If he's human in the novels, why would they make him a Replicant in the movies? The only pieces of "evidence" that he's a Replicant are circumstancial and ambiguous at best, and can easily be dismissed as Red Herrings.

This only makes sense when the unicorn scene is added, which is only in the directors cut. I don’t like the idea of deckard being a replicant. In that case the end monologue of Roy Batty for me is less powerful, if it’s now 2 replicants talking to eachother, instead of a replicant explaining life to a human, which was the reason I found this movie so powerful

If Deckard is as Ridley Scott suggests (against the many wishes of everyone involved with the film, including Harrison Ford) a replicant, then the entire meaning of Blade Runner is completely pointless. All of its themes about humanity, identity, and morality fall by the waist side. Deckard needs to be a human for the film to have an emotional impact. This is why so many fans are adamant about Deckard not being a replicant. It really does throw a massive wrench into the meaning of the movie. There's a reason why Philip K. Dick (writer of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) had Deckard be a human protagonist, it's what makes the story's themes resonate.

This is fake for the simple reason that in the autopsy video they were working in full hazmat suits of the era, because apparently one of the specops guys who dragged the corpse out of the craft succumbed to an alien virus minutes after the fact. They then switched to wearing full hazmat gear and worked in a quarantined autopsy room as can be noticed by the glass separation behind which another doctor is present without hazmat suit. If the body carried a pathogen (and generally when recovering alien bodies) you’d make sure none of the base personnel and especially not top brass come anywhere near the thing. The whole thing is a hoax, both videos are fake and the cia has revamped it by dropping a false claim that kit green saw a similar video, the cia is using it to further the alien hysteria of late, playing right into the hands of the skinwalker grifter crew/to the stars academy plants.

Nah, that is just lame. Deckard is not a replicant and was never meant to be. The depth of the movie is already there without any extras. Plus it is a story about humanity. When Deckard retires replicants one by one we know he just murders them. It is an ultimate movie about dying and Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever says it all. Please don't produce absurd extra blah blah around the message this movie conveys.

I can accept Deckard is a replicant, but the story could be more controversial. In my own, I'd rather prefer he was human, but anyway we have more Reading keys. First of all, I have to say that replicants were created Strong and very speed, with agility and flexibility. Then how come Deckard wasn't Strong As well the two women he killed, Zhora and Pris?! And why at the end of the movie, he is running the risk to fall down the skyscraper and he couldn't pull up on the bar and surviving by himself? Excuse me, Ladies & Gentleman, but if he was created to eliminate the other Replicants, it' s really a strange fact he didn't have other way to kill except his Gun! More details are coming. What is the reason he can go away at the end of his engagement if he was a Replicant?! Why the others should have been killed because they were supposed to be dangerous for the society, instead Deckard not? Again: When he came at the Tyrrell Corporations, for the first time, why Mr.Tyrrell treat him As human?(and never shows doubt about this for the intere movie)

The effect of shorting the electromagnet effectively negates the presence of the iron rod which is obviously having a magnetic field induced in it as the magnets approach and recede and acts as a brake. Short-circuiting the coil is equivalent to placing a shorted turn around a transformer core to similar effect. So far, no apparent mystery. Another comment to come after I've watched Part 3 (if anything else rears its head). A circuit diagram of the whole setup, external power source included would be helpful. However it appears that by shorting the electromagnet coil he is simply removing a brake from an externally powered induction motor. Why a supposed professor couldn't understand that is beyond me. The explanation of the effect of replacing a piece of metal in the shaft is, to be blunt, a load of hooey.
